Did you get veteran pistol without getting basic?

If you did, you will never get 1st Sgt.

once you are already a master sergean you cant get promoted to 1st sergeant even though you have all the basic badges.

It happened to me before.

I would be surprised if EA didn't know about this already.


The question is if they'll automatically update the stat servers or wait until the next patch. I'd assume they'd do the former if they want to avoid a lynching. I'm stuck at Master with my requirements met but guess what, it's really not that big a deal. Ever since this patch, ranks don't seem to matter all that much.

I was wondering the same, i got veteran pistol first, and then basic pistol for some reason. oh well. on my next promotion, i have basic everything. will i get Sergeant Major? or Master Gunny Sgt?

It's a silly oversight. They could have fixed this really easy by making the kills in a round requirement for the basic knife and pistol badges less than that for the vet badges.

i guess they didn't think it would be a problem! And nobody reached 150'000 points a lot before the patch came out. So this issue was never noticed before?

Just wondering if when i get to 19k i should stop playing with that account until we know there is a fix for this problem.
I would like to be First Sgt. I have all the reqs, so should i wait ?
20k-50k is a huge gap, they should of put a rank inbetween say 35k...

whoa, just noticed by clicking on the icon my BF2 icon(below posts), it looks like i now have basic pistol !! have EA updated something ???
Before it only showed vet pistol, now it shows basic.

Yeah m8, they seem to have updated the stats of everyone who got the veteran pistol badge together with the basic one! So you could go ahead and make 20k points. I already have 32k and wont get the FS rank but I should be able to get the Sergeant Major when I hit 50k!! I hope so!

never I asked them now bout 6 times if they can give me the FS rank, but they just told me that I might be missing some other requirements. That they fixed my stats for the pistol badge, they never told me! That's EA!!!!

I have the same problem, but it doesent bother me much. Im Master Sargeant now and i only lack one unlock - the G3, which im not in a hurry to get.

EA should be able to fix it wether you wait or not. They can just change the requirements to accept veteran badge aswell as basic badges.

Why should you not get the rank you want? You did what you were supposed to and really worked hard while you were playing on those stat padding gun/knife only servers. You go player! You rock the stats. We should just give you all the unlocks and forget we ever played because you, mr stat padder are a true honest player now that it comes to a ranking.
