Game lockup after clicking on a server in server list?

Seems to be happening more and more. After first launching the game and clicking the first server I want to look at, the entire game locks up on me. I can't ALT+TAB or ALT+F4 to get out of it. I can either sit and wait for a few minutes or force reboot my rig. This wasn't a problem before 1.03 as far as I can tell. I'm not jumping on the blame wagon here. I just want to know if others are experiencing this issue too. Usually the second attempt works fine but the server details take too long to populate in my opinion.

Can server admins control the response time to client requests?

Been like that since 1.0. It freezes for around 20 seconds when a server is clicked on.

I've already done the BF2 tweak guide and the NV Tweak guide. (a long with others)
I also looked for a SATA driver for my mobo but didn't dig up anything. I'll look again to see what I find.

I'll try some of the other stuff too. This game loads too slow for me considering my rig.
