Are 3rd party map servers ranked?

When you play one of the amazing 3rd-party BF2 maps online, are your play stats uploaded as per an official BF2 map/standard ranked server? Or are servers that host 3rd-party maps by default unranked? Just wondering.

Unranked. As of now, only the maps that EA has released are ranked. They may include ranking support for mods one day, though. *shrugs*

I doubt they'd do it for mods, the scoring in the mod could be alot different from BF2 and setting up a second set of ranks would probably take too many resources. However they might release a set of chosen community maps that would work on the servers, I could see that happening.

Having stats gathered for mods will be more likely than custom maps on ranked servers I think. I'm not saying we'll get a full structure of ranks and medals but merely the gathering of the personal stats of a player.
