Unpdating BF2 Server on Linux

I am wondering if someone can help me with trying to understand what is the easiest way to update BF2 server on Linux. I have it running on Fedora Core 4.
I know that you will run installation again doing "sh ................." but this will delete the "bf2" directory & reinstall rest from scratch.
This means I have to back up all the files (yeah I know there are two of them only), I just think this is a little pain in the ass.

Any help would be helpfull please.

Did you read the README? I am sure there is an update function to the make file.

Try checking the man for make. I have not run into this issue yet although the two above are usually good places to start.
