****ing ridiculous...

Okay, so I go to play BF2... I've never had any problems with it before, ever! That is, before the patch, now after the patch I went to join a game, went through all the right screens, get into a game after an extended data verification period and then guess what, I can't move my mouse or my keyboard! That's right, it's as though they're not connected. The mouse pointer is stuck firmly at the center of the spawn screen and I see guys running around getting shot outside of the spawn box, but I can't spawn since my mouse doesn't want to respond! I can alt+tab out and alt+tab back in, but other wise, no luck. ALready wasted 30 minutes trying to join one effing rounds of BF2!

Any ideas?

And you're saying that you can click all the menu options (multiplayer, commnity, BFHQ) but once in game, you can't do crap?

Well, at a pathetic attempt of help, check over your options. Make sure the controls didn't get erased or somethin. Happened to a friend of mine recently.

That happened to me only once, and it was pre-patch (actually only a week or so ago). I thought I got stuck at the spawn point, so I suicided and respawned. I tried that same spawn point three times (kept putting me in the same location) before trying another. It was screwed up at the other, also. I just disconnected and rejoined and it worked fine. *shrugs*

Disconnected, reconnected, restarted... What I mean, is that when the map loads, I can't use my mouse. In fact, BF2 is open at the spawn screen right now.. not letting me spawn -_-

Okie, the round just ended, I got sent to the score screen where the mouse _does_ move.. but now it doesn't that I've clicked join game ._. *sighs*

Oh, it doesn't work in the menus, either? That didn't happen to me -- I was able to use the cursor in the menus, I just wasn't able to use the mouse to move in-game. Sorry, dunno what the problem could be then.

Have you tried going into Options -> Controls and applying default controls. It sounds like the problem with controls being wiped, and this shoould fix it.

The happened to me. Un-install BF2 and when it asks to delete your account click yes (don't worry, it isn't deleting your account off of EA) then wait for it to finish, the re-install and install the new patch again, log back in and recover your account and it should be fine.

I had this happen to me on Songhue Stalemate, I was running up the hill towards the usmc base and my mouse stopped responding, I ended up munching grass on the hill near the usmc scanner, I had to unplug the mouse and move it to a different port, then it responded, I moved it back and it was working fine.

Not happened since and the mouse is still in the original port.

maybe its an online thing, try single player just to eliminate all odds.
