Small Lan games a bit empty?

Hello,

being a cautious old bloke, I decided not to buy BF2 till I'd played it, an opportunity I got last week at a small LAN party. Plenty of eulogising about how it looks sounds and feels ensued, but the one thing that really struck me was the loneliness. It was 2v2 and there were half-hour stretches where nothing at all happened. Is it supposed to be like this, or were my hosts doing something wrong?

I'm not buying it if this is the score. I think LAN games still rule for those of us not yet completely sociopathic in our computing habits, but the maps are too big and gorgeous for 2v2.

Theres away to add bots for a lan game. Last time i did it, we had to roll back to 1.00, and use the 'glitch' sort of thing, wich lets you add bots. I think there is programs out now that can add bots, so you can have 28 bots, then then you and the other 3 players.
