p.s. what on earth does the fact that he notices a problem have to do with getting a life??
Because the people that say people need to get a life on the net is becasue they're teenagers and more than likely dont have a life because mummy and daddy wont let them go out and play

This theory just came to me. If this problem is only happening on the runways, maybe Dice programmed it this way so that unskilled pilots would stop bombing the airfields because they wouldnt see anything to bomb until its too late. It is pretty annoying when an enemy plane commes and bombs, or fires rockets at you before you take off. This requires no skills and makes the other guy seem like a coward, so maybe DICE had enough complaints about it to secretly resolve it with a draw distance fix?
Re: proof that DICE has decreased/screwed the draw distance
If I recall correctly... that's not "draw distance" what you're talking about or LOD... it's Anisotropic filtering no? I would check all your vid card settings... go into the 6800 control panel and set everything yourself instead of letting the game handle those settings. That way you can see if it's a game/patch issue or a video card issue. If you need better instructions, check tweakguides.com.

first of all WHACKASS. read the other posts and think about them. He was talking about a decreased VIEW DISTANCE! The view distance defines how FAR you can see, NOT what the textures below your A.SS look like. There where plenty of people who already acknowledged that TEXTURE BUG. But there is NO EVICENDCE, as the author claimed, of a reduced draw distance.

thats a missinterpretation of the images. they are all taken on diffrent possitions thus the "missing" objects.
Re: proof that DICE has decreased/screwed the draw distance
I did some looking into this, as it seems more of a LOD error, where the engine switches to the lower detail level at the wrong time. I've loaded up the map and can replicate a similar issue on the same runway, however the interesting thing is that I do not get the same issue on the runways of the us base on the same map. It would be interesting if anyone else can confirm this, if so it would at least indicate that all that is wrong is the setup of the texture used for the MEC runway has been "damaged" in this patch, rather than a more serious engine error.
Re: proof that DICE has decreased/screwed the draw distance
also u can clearly see there aint no trees in the pics taken from the 1.03 patch next to the runway hangar.
but LOD or texture ****ups or not isnt my prob. The gfx in 1.03 with medium settings suck more then 1.02. lighting and textures are ALOT worse now then before. and yes it probably wont show as much on a 6800gt or x850 but on my system with a 9800 pro it sure is noticeable. it's like they made the system requirements higher with the patch and now the gfx sucks more.
hopefully dice will fix this when another patch comes out in 5 months....
Re: proof that DICE has decreased/screwed the draw distance
I saw this as soon as I installed 1.03 as well. If you swing by the runway real low to re-arm, you can see it with the 'tail-cam' view. About halfway through the plane, the runway textures go screwy.
I've even seen this while driving a car on this map.
I also have a 6800GT (AGP). I saw this with 78.03 and now 80.84.
