Did 1.03 patch just corrupt my lsass.exe?

I downloaded the 1.03 patch from the EA games site, installed. The installation proceeded normally until, at the very end, I got a "patch failed" dialog box.

Once I pressed OK, I got another box stating the system would shut down in 60 seconds, referenced c:\windows\System32 folder\lsass.exe, and froze. Now I cannot log on to Windows.

Is the patch contaminated with the Sasser worm, did the patch damage a system resource, or is this just a monumentally bad coincidence?

What should I do?

I'm running XP pro on a HP zd8000 notebook. I'd love to tell you more but I can't access my system :cussing:

wow. that sucks, i had that one on my old comp, it sucked, shut down in 60 secs. i dont think it was the patch, where did u dl it from. mine installed perfect, i dont understand how ppl have patching failed messages when other ppl install it fine.

no telling. Evidently I have offended the computer gods
