1.02 players

I was just playing around with the filters on ASE and spotted that there are :

76 version 1.0 servers with 1259 people playing

8 1.01 servers!() with 2 people playing

1504 1.02 servers with 4000 people on them

3834 1.03 servers with 15347 people playing.


Are those 5000-odd people not playing with the 1.03 patch not upgrading because they don't want to or because they don't even know that the patch exists? How does someone who doesn't go to BF2 forums find out that his game, which maybe for him is working fine, needs a patch so he can access the other 50% of the servers ?

Was any of the servers ranked servers?? if so they will be forced to upgrade to 1.03 patch and if they are public it does not really matter people will find there is a new patch sooner or later

maybe they arent hardcore into bf2 and dont know there is a patch yet.

My guess is they don't know, because I see no other reason why not to play with 1.03.. Most people are just casual gamers, not checking BF2 websites regulary etc, they have no way of knowing there's a patch out.. But they will learn the longer they play, others will tell them etc..

No none are ranked and I guess that they just don't know that there's a patch because about 50% of the servers are still running 1.02 and they just haven't run into problems finding serevrs to play on.

JFI, 22000 playing on ranked and 3000 playing unranked atm.

How can they not know if they are playing with EA's whoreslagbag of a message upon log in.

I think they choose not to.
