Wake Island single player

Anyone else having a problem with this? I try to load it up on Single player but as soon as it gets to "verifying data" it blackscreens and crashes to desktop.

I'm not expecting bots or anything, just wanted to wander round the map before trying it online. I have yet to try it multiplayer, I hope it works better than my single player effort...

it´s just for Multiplayer .

start it as a local server. GOt o multiplayer, Create Local, choose wake, and start the server, should work like that.

start it as a local server. GOt o multiplayer, Create Local, choose wake, and start the server, should work like that.

At least you can look around , check where stuff is and so on .

Wake Island 2007 was only meant for Multiplayer, but if someone could come out with a custom mod/map to let us play it in singleplayer that would be nice! :)

I knew it was only multiplayer but since I can load other fan made maps up in single player without bots I kinda expected the same for Wake.

Hardly a big issue, but I was curious.

Custom maps for multiplayer take a LOT of work as you have to write all the AI for the bots as opposed to just making it look pretty.

If you wanted to have it for single player. Get the editor and try to put in the bot AI. You will then meet me in the nuthouse. :)
