I just got a 9800 pro and after installing it and updating drivers to Catalyst 5.9.
The video display is CRAP.
I would get a bigger image but photobucket is being dumb.
This is a video driver issue. Unistall the drivers ( control panel/CCC, and the drivers itself). Run the drivercleaner in safe mode and run the cleaner and the cab cleaner. Then reinstall the drivers and you should be fine.
ok i got another problem, i removed all drivers to start from scrach, after doing so i then rebooted, now after the windows loading bar my monitor goes into sleep mode, but i hear windows startup and my programs turning on. I then go and replace the 9800 withmy 9550 and it loads fine, any ideas?
I mean without anything installed it should still load a basic screen. Im so lost.
The resolution and refresh rate probobaly got put on a setting that your monitor doesnt support. If you can put your old card back in, completely uninstall all video drives, shut down, and install the 9800pro (love that card). I'm using the 5.8 drivers by omega, and I havent had any problems so far. The graphics glitch in your pic looks like the ones I had when I was using 5.6.

Sounds like the 9800 is on it's last leg. If you've removed and cleaned all the drivers and can't even see the Windows start then I'm thinking hardware. Try booting in Safe mode and see what happens.
oK i got rid of the black screen and the monitor loads, but now i got another problem, i og tthe card in my comp and i installed the CD but have not installed the drivers. Now in my Device manager it shows the 9800 as a unknown device.
Now what i have is 2 9800's the second one says secondary, now the 2ns one says its working fine while the first one have a tellow thing on it and says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" I am getting tempted on doing a reboot of the computer and start fresh.
Ok i reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled everything, but the 9800 pro still have the damn polygon problem, i updated drivers to omega 2.6, even before updating it had the problem. Anyone still got any ideas??

If you just bought it and after althese tips you're still having problems then take it back and get it exchanged for another one IMMEDIATELY before your warranty expires. At least this way you will have ruled out a defective card while you still can.
