I did a search and didn't find anyone talking this so I thought I would ask. If you got this badge, how did you, what was your strategy. The most I have gotten is 3 pistol kills. What maps the best for pistols? And is there a difference between the spec ops / sniper pistol and the rest of the kits pistol?

Almost any badge can be attained on Strike at Karkand, barring the aireal ones of course. I got my basic knife, basic and vet sniper, ground defense, ground transport, medic, spec, explosive ordanance and hell a few others, but this is just as an example. Karkand is THE map for knife and pistol IMO and many others.
The close confines allow you to get behind people and in the case of a knife its a one hit kill al the time, with a pistol a shot to the back of the head puts em down just as fast. Try not to use spec or sniper as the silenced pistols arent as strong and have significant drops in accuracy/damage.
Just focus on a pistol most of the round trying for long range kills. Or up close put a few rounds from an assault rifle then press one real quick and tap em for the kill. Ulkl have that badge in no time. Hell I need to take my own advice lol Im just not in a rush for it I guess. -

I got my Basic Pistol badge on Karkland running around frantically trying to pistol people in CQB (Close Quarters Battle). It took lots of concentration and several tries.
I got the veteran pistol badge (before 1.03) by accident as a sniper on the map with the Radio Building on the far East end that has a helo pad on top (Gult of Oman?). I found a great roost and had such a good run my m24 I ran out of ammo so I started sniping people with my pistol. I repeated this a couple of times and presto, Veteran Pistol badge.
In short, SNIPE with the pistol, keep lots of range between you and the target, placing the target just ontop of the front sight. For some silly reason it's one of the most accurate guns in the game, but it's damage is low. If you try to beat somebody up close they'll outgun you, but at range you can consistently punch holes in them until they die while their bullets fly all around you due to deviation.Comment

If you want to make pistol kills you got to aim for the head and nothing else, that gives you a good chance.Comment

Play as support, eng, or at and use it for range. You will get good with it after a few rounds and be able to kill much easyer with it, it just becomes natural to use the pistol if you use those classes......although with the patch support doesnt need the pistol for range, so unbalanced.....Comment

Easy way to get Pistol badge:
Go to Strike At Karkland (or even Mashtuur City)
Use the M95 Sniper Rifle
Hit the enemy once with the rifle -- fire off one shot at him with a Pistol and you will get pistol kill creditComment

aim for the head, the pistol has very low recoil and is actualy very acurate, with headshots you take a guy down very fast.
As said before, karkand is very good for getting the pistol badge, close infantry combat is what you need.Comment

I have a slightly more elegant suggestion.
Most are right when they say Karkand, but only because most of the enemies will be on foot and not in vehicles. Mashtuur also works, as does Wake Island.
When using the pistol, you need to play like you are trying to get the knife badge. That is, you need to be sneaky and avoid ranged encounters. Pretend like you're Solid Snake, or the guy from Splinter Cell, or some other operative who has to infiltrate behind enemy lines.
Once you've run around the main combat zone, a whole world of opportunities presents itself. Snipers looking down-field, enemies in mounted MGs - no one will be paying attention to you. Walk up to them, within 20m, and aim for the head.
Aside from netting you 5 kills pretty quickly, you won't have to die 10 times to get them. It will also make you a better overall player, since sneaking around requires a good amount of awareness, timing, and patience.
It makes for a fun "game mode" if you're looking for something new. I spent a few days playing this way (knife/pistol only vs everyone else using normal weapons) just to mix things up - it's a lot of fun.Comment
