Stupid Basic Badges
i need help...i a master sergeant and i cant go on to staff sergeant because i have a vet pistol badge and not a basic pistol badge....how can i fix this?

My question is, I am not going to get the knife badge (basic). Just cant do it. I sneak around looking for an opportunity to knife and its just a measure of how long I repeatedly get killed before I give up on the knife. Getting 7 in one round? Ha!
So, the question, on that rank site that shows all the points for each rank some have said the labels dont match, if you read the bottom it talks a bit about the badges needed for each rank and that is the reason, they say, that some ranks are doubled up. So the question is CAN I progress in ranks without all basic badges?
(What I mean is, I am currently a Gunny Sergent with about 19,000 points no basic pistol or knife badge. On the rank site http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php it says there are TWO Gunny Sgt ranks, one is Master Sgt and the other is First Sgt. Both require 20,000 points but only First Sgt requires all basic badges)
(Same thing for my next available rank which is Master Sgt. There are two listed, for 50000 points each, Master Gunnery Sgt is 50000 points no badge requirments the other is Sgt Major 50000 points and all basic badges)

"The major difference between several of the higher ranks is that you get the "higher" rank if you have certain badges. Whichever rank you get, each pair only gives you one unlock. "
So I ask again, can I get Master Sgt without getting the 'better' of the two Gunny Sgt ranks?Comment
