Olds new, but a funny example of how stats are ridiculous.

    Just for our amusement...

The top player on the Gameslave leaderboard is |ccc||PlaneWhore, who is apparently a fantastic pilot (11600 kills and 260 deaths while airborne). If you look at his stats you'll notice something rather funny.

He has been awarded the "Veteran Sniper" badge for his remarkable 45 kills and 109 deaths with the sniper rifle.

The folly of DICE's ranking system is old news, but I thought this little example captured the full extent of its poor design pretty handily.

Yes to get any badge just get in a tank or jet and then do your kills. I do not think someone will ever get the sniper badges by actually sniping people.

not true, i already got enough kills in 1 round for the expert sniper medal just by sniping, no tanks. i just gotta get the time in for it. im not lying

Of course it doesn't matter, but it does help pass the time at work...

Personally, if I'm looking at someone's stats, I check how many weapon kills they have and how many vehicle kills they have. The kit K/D ratio is meaningless.
You're right in that Dice should have made the badges for each kit only obtainable outside a vehicle. At least that's what I think you're saying...

Getting the sniper vet and exp badge with only weapons(no vehicles) is quite challenging. All the talk of "Dice's lowering the requirements too much" is incorrect...if you don't ever use vehicles...

I think they should have done away with the ranking system all together. Unlocks and rank should be based on time spent in the game. I know it sounds wierd, but it would be a bit more honest than what people are doing right now. When you start awarding people points for every little action they do, their is bound to be someone out there exploiting it just to get ahead. At least with a timebased system, you can implement an idle-manager in the game that gets you disconnected if you haven't given the game any input in 10 minutes, you have to spend the time actually playing. You mite think, well, what if the guy sucks after 40 hours still, at least he spent 40 hours actually playing and not tossing out ammo bags.

I think badges should still be awarded for effectively using a kit as intended for that specific class (not for being AT in a Jet). Medals should go to highest kill, flags or combination of both. The way it is right now, I'm surprised you don't get points for being afk.

oh if they made it to where you had to be out of a vehicle to get a basic badge for a kit i would have never got the basic engineer combat badge i can't hit jack with a shotgun. I like to keep my distance from other people
