carrier air defenses on wake island map

i noticed that on the map wake island, when a plane or helio got close to the carrier, the air defenses didnt lock on untill they are right on top of ya
has anyone else noticed this? or is it me?
also the AA missles havent improved like that the patch says it did.

they locked on fine with me , but indeed those AA misiles are still crapy against jets, haven't noticed any improvement ether.

PS : if you want to have fun, try to be a chineese dude, land on carier with parashute and try to get in the back airdefense site, did this once on dailan plant, my god, nowbody stayed alife on the carier

It does take a while for them to lock, but it's like this on every map with the *ahem* amphibious assault ship (or LHD if you're into the whole brevity thing).

The AA missiles do turn a lot better (sharper) now, though.

Somebody did this to me/my team once. Spec Ops and C4 end of problem, not before he/she obliterated my team repeatedly. Back on subject. I've noticed the missles in the SAM sites tend to fly faster, which just helps you realize you've missed quicker. Maybe it's just me though.

I tried to do that on Gulf of Oman and it wouldn't let me in the airdefense weapon. Weird.

i tried that once, but couldnt get into the gun, thought only USMC can get in them

Well my team and myself were getting wasted by a guy in the AA on the carrier. He had a red tag too. Could've been a TKer with red tag bug, but that's unlikely.

bah its easy to think just a second while your 15respawn and take the AT missile and shoot him in prone and take cover on the side ramps of the carrier. the rwapper can survive no more than 16seconds if done right.

The AA is much better.

Perhaps its the map, but on Dalian Plant I will lock on a target at clipping range...however on Wake Island I can see a plane and NOT lock on!!!

I haven't tested the range of the lock, but it should be at 600m.

the range is incredible, on wake im made a bombing run on the carrier (last base left) and when the essex got a lock i had to make some idiot moves WITH thrusters CONSTANT on before i lost the missles it, so the range is insane thats for sure. and incase you wanted to know, i set the camera in reverse to see who shot at me, and there was no plane............
