  • Singleplayer question...

I was messing around with singleplayer the other day, and was curious whether or not there was a way to increase the enemies from 16 to some higher number?

I don't think it's possible to increase the number of AI on a SP game. Also, posting links to unrelated threads isn't going to answer his question.

Yep what he^ said. Try use the search function when you have a question in future cause you will find that most questions you need answered would of already been asked by somebody else.

Did you click the link in the thread?

It takes you to battlefield single player website, which has the co-op mod for increasing the AI, so how about ssshhhh.

I was trying to be nice to him, saying it's an unrelated thread made me laugh as thread title is 1.03 and co-op, can't understand how he would think they aren't related

                    Re: Singleplayer question...

Here you go MagmaMan; forget where I found this but thanks whoever you are!

If you want more bots on the 16-player sized maps you can simply change one file. The path is:

                    C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI\AIDefault.ai

I had trouble trying to upload my modded copy but here's a description of the changes to the file:

**** Make a copy of the original file before modding!!!! ****
Find the three lines that read:

                    aiSettings.setMaxNBots 64
                    aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 1
                    aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4

Add 'rem ' at the beginning, like so:

                    rem aiSettings.setMaxNBots 64
                    rem aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 1
                    rem aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4

Then find the four lines that read:

                    rem aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
                    rem aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32
                    rem aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
                    rem aiSettings.setBotSkill 1.0

and remove the 'rem ' from the beginning of each:

                    aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
                    aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32
                    aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
                    aiSettings.setBotSkill 1.0

You can change the setMaxNBots line to whatever bot count you want, this will be the total of all players. You can also adjust the skill with setBotSkill, I believe 0.4 equals the lowest menu option and 1.0 the highest. I have a low-mid CPU and max out at 30 bots with 0.6 skill and about 24 with 1.0 skill. To go back to original settings simply rename the modded file to something new and rename the saved file to the original name.

                      Re: Singleplayer question...

Thanks everyone. I was just curious. The last few days my ISP has decided to become inconsistant and drops my connection once in a while. It's nice to have that singleplayer backup in case of emergencies.
