Do I need only the 1.03 patch?!

After a fresh reinstall do I need only the 1.03 patch or do I have to patch it to earlier versions first?

I think it is the best approch to use only 1.03.
In most games it is best to patch from 1.0 to latest version directly, instead of using incremental patches.

yes.. go directly to 1.03... i did a format/reinstall the day it came out.. installed the game.. and then installed the patch.. without even running the game a single time..

As stated above, you only need to install 1.03. As a matter of fact, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling, then patching to 1.03 no matter what.

It isn't worth uninstalling BF2 if you're just going to reinstall it again just to patch. Waste of time and effort.

Unfortunately, after I do a fresh install of BF2 and then patch to 1.03 BF2 won't even start up.

I don't like patching over old patches. Seems to generate conflicts. Any problem I've encountered, be it with my machine or a friends, I've been able to solve by just doing a fresh install.

Argh! I had problems with the new patch (<- the reason for reinstall!). But anyway, thanks everyone!
