    M95 observations...

Yeah I know, 100 threads on this already...

However, with the promo to Gunnery Sgt and 3 new unlocks, I used one on this weapon.

Played Karkand last night by myself so that I could get on a rooftop and put it to use.... Spent most of my time on the hotel roof, let the MEC team cap the flag and took to fragging some of the guys spawning closeby.

Is it me, or is this weapon horribly inaccurate at medium distances? I was on the smallest portion of the roof, looking towards the rural base, and had guys across the freaking street from the hotel flag (100-200' away?) -- that I could not seem to hit. This being prone, sub 50 ping, etc..... I was amazed at guys where I had the x-hair dead in their chests not even register a hit.

I ended up switching back to the m24. The real sniper upgrade should be giving the m24 to the PLA and MEC armies :) :)

I'll give it another shot at longer ranges, but its nothing like using the .50 cal on Weapons Bunker in DC was

    Re: M95 observations...

Sometimes the M95 does great for me, then sometimes, well....Last night on Mausher (sp) city I tried to kill a AT guy, hit him 3 times from med range and he didnt die, on the forth shot I belive I hit him but he hit me with the rocket and I died, he walked away, I was so ****ed. On the other hand I had a few one shot head shots that game too so, typical Dice crap I guess.

I only just got the M95, but here are a couple of things I've learned:

Tip 1: Wait for the target to stop moving, don't wanna give your position away needlessly so wait until you have a good shot.

Tip 2: Aim for the body, NOT the head. This way you're almost gauranteed to hit. Sure, you may not 1 shot kill them, but you take them down to 2 bars of health and will probably get the kill assist.

On Wake Island yesterday I was testing out this new unlock, one particularly sweet effort took out a newly respawned soldier with 1 shot to the head as he ran for a tank. So it can cause plenty of damage, just wish I could reproduce that kind of shot more often !!!

Tip 3: Shoot your target once, if you don't hit the head quick switch to your pistol, get the kill (and rack up your pistol kills to), it really ****es people off though (it is a cheap tactic).

I also feel that the M95 is crap. With any other sniper rifle, i can usually hit someone's head in a MG turret 100m away. But with the M95 I couldn't do it 50m away!

The trick to sniping.... are you ready?........ Most good snipers will tell you this....

              Wait 2 seconds.

Point where you want to shoot, and then DO NOT MOVE. Count to 2, maybe 3. Then shoot. I can hit about 80% of the time. Sure, you're probably wondering above moving targets, but that's where leading comes in handy, =)

Also, there is a VERY sliiiiight bullet drop. Usually aiming just a few pixels higher than your target will get you the hit.
