right i havnt been playing the game that long, and seem to be getting killed from other players with one or two shots when i twill take me many more shots to kill a player.
what is the best weapon/kit for a noob to survive and kill in this game?
I recommend Assault for a newbie. It has armor, AND the infamous n00b t00b!
You get a great assault gun, you get a grenade launcher (n00b t00b) that can kill anybody with one shot (and also do damage to any and all vehicles), you get body armor which absorbs 33% damage to torso, and you get smoke grenades to conceal your advancement or confuse the enemy. Oh, and you also get a pistol for backup if you miss with everything else
The only downsides? No thrown grenades, and less sprint than the no-armor classes (e.g. sniper, spec ops)

Assault, m203/gp30, and learn to use it at range. 4get all the jumping and blasting people at their feet -- just send them nades from 100' away and you'll rack up the kills.
The assualt AK guns are great, drop down, right click, aim, shot, they will die!! I only use the noob tube for trucks and long range shots, great for flag defends. Check my stats, 2000+ kills with assult rifle, only 200-250 tube kills
Well, play karkand because you'll end up catching someone with one abr or something of health left anyway. Everyone will be reloading a lot. And lots of places to splash damage. So do what Talus said. Also, try going medic since you can heal yourself. That's all from me.

The secret is to keep moving, stay close to walls or buildings. I have many tank to helo kills
Man, u should lay down when shootting, is more accurate for u and less easy for ur enemy. In vehicles move, move, move, don't waste time stopped (get some trainning in SP).
Ha. I still use the M203 all the time. No shame. It's apart of the game.
I did unlock the G3 though. That gun completely owns. Set it to single shot and you can manage long and short range. The only down side is the lack of ammo.
I know pretty well that weapon (real life), it's been adopted by portuguese army for a long time... (still do I believe). I've made my military service with it... it's heavy, but really powerfull. Can kill a guy at 300m and it's bullet (9,25) can range for 450m, it can pass thru 5 man in short range if they're close together.
Also shoot in bursts or single shot. The assault rifles are pretty accurate if you dont just go full auto. Also prone whenever you can, makes you hard target and lets you shoot better.
