installation Problem

hey everybody i just went out to buy battlefeild and sucseeded i got it yeaaaahhhh

here the problem auto play came up and i clicked install then it came up

"Preparing to install please wait" so i wait the the progress bar fills up to 4 bars the and error comes up " please close any other installation programs before running installaion so i do this and then after this the same message comes up ........

i tried to install it manualy and the same error over and over and over this is bugging me alot please help

Have you tried restartin PC and installing again, if a prevoius install of something that uses InstallShield too, like BF2, is in memory or active it might fail other InstallShield attempts. This could probably happen if you had another install using InstallShield that crasehed or failed and didn't exit porperly.

Have you tried installing from a different Windows account?

When you install manually, is this the approch where you copy contents to harddrive and try from there right?? If so try installing this way again but in Safe Mode, press F8 just before windows boot logo.

i tried to install manualy by going to the disk and tryin taht way but i didnt work so i went to regedit remove the registry 4 it and at4 oclok im gunna try to install again thanks for your help

installed manually by going into the disk then installin that way that dint work i get my game back at 4 so i will try what u said then thanks

Ah I thought manually you ment by putting CDs/DVD onto harddrive. I would have tried what you did too first, in case autorun menu install messed it up.

You can try the manua way of installing from harddrive, as explained at EA support site here:

E.g. if you do this in Safe Mode there aren't anything to disrupt the install, but not sure if it works there, just a thought.

You can't install from the DVD/CD in Safe Mode because drivers for these drives most often aren't loaded and that's why this other 'manual' install could work in such cases.
