No artillery kills?

I tried commander for the first time this week, but I noticed I wasn't getting any kills from artillery. Are you not credited kills?

Before the patch you were credited for kills but didn't get any points for them.

After the patch you don't get credited for the kills.

I believe that this was to prevent people using an exploit where by you drop arty, resign as commander, and all kills gave you points. You make sure you resigned before the end of the game to have the points/kills credited to your account.

Thats most likely why they did it. It seems the kills do still count though as I got my veteran special ops combat from artying while commander yesturday.

Hmm... How does the commander get points now?
When I played commander pre-patch, I usually had 0 teamwork-points, but lot of kills (arty).
Does anyone have a list of actions that gets commander points?
And, yes, I used the search, but didn´t find anything.

Huh?! Then how come you get points at all as commander?
Please enlighten me, I seemed to have misunderstood the commander-role completly.

Pre-patch you would never have been given points for arty kills (from what I remember at least!)

There never was an official list but there sure where some heated debates here as to where the points come from :)

EA said it's the average of the teams total and some members poroved that it was the average of the 'running' total of the winning team PLUS some magic points that weren't figured out :)

Although I'm sure I will be corrected I seem to remember it was based on your teams scores.

Yeah, the 'manual' said that it was the average of your teams score ( multiplied by 2 if your team wins).

Someone at the EA Forums went through the code and worked out that it was the average PLUS something called 'commander actions'.

I set up a LAN game once and ordered a squad to attack a certain flag, the commander hit the up button to accept the command and I got 1 point. So it's not 100% clear exactly what gives you points but the average of your team score will usually be close to your score.

Ok, thanks, but if it´s the average score of something, how come you can end up as #1 (gold medal) in a game, even before "x 2"? Hmmmm...

Aaaah the x factor is commander actions? I wonder if that includes resupply and asking if support is needed.

Commander actions = things like giving orders.

Give out orders to a squad and have them accept it, and you'll earn points. Someone asks for new orders, supplies, etc....

I don't know the exact method at which these points acrue. But basic commanders should not be in vehicles, keep the commander screen up the whole time, and basically work with your scan, uav, arty, and supplies. Help the squads out - get them higher scores - and you'll pick up your points.

Yes, I've noticed that I don't get any points for dropping supply crates, but if I tell a squad that supplies are available and they accept them then I get 1 point. But to be honest I have noticed cases where I didn't get the point so I really don't know more than the next guy.

Your final score includes the x 2 bonus.

Commander points are based on the average score of your team. You do not get kills for killing people with arty and u never have.

So yes you have miusunderstood the commander role completely.
