Strange teamkill credit

I was a door gunner on a BH last night (can't remember which map) and we took some heavy fire while on approach to a flag. The pilot bailed (whichout any notice which was nice) and I bailed shortly after when I noticed we were taking a nose dive for the ground. I managed to get a parachute up just before I hit the floor but was killed by the explosion from the BH hitting the deck very close to me.

I'm fine with that, I should have watched what the pilot was doing and bailed sooner but then I noticed the kill messages from three of the other people in the BH marked up as Teamkills from Jonthebrit. I'm sure I didn;t fire in the panic to bail or anything so I'm at a loss as to why/how I teamkilled.

I lost the score (as usual) for the 'teamkills' but not the added score for a punish which I half expected. Either they were all not fussed or they couldn't punish (I suspect the latter).

Anyone else experience something like this? I'm not bothered about the loss of score or anything but as a team player it bothers me when I accidentally teamkill (which I don't think I did in this instance) because it's not really great team play.

Yeah, this happened to me too last night. We were taking fire in the Blackhawk when flying at a low altitude, we all jumped out seconds before the thing blew, but 3 of us got hit by the hull and the gunner was credited the teamkills.
They said in the patch notes that wrongly accredited teamkills for the driver would be fixed, guess they didn't get around to fixing it for the passengers/gunners too

Yep, same thing happened to me mate, except I didn't even get a chance to get out after the pilot bailed. My team mates were decent enough not to TK punish though.

Another one last night. Shot down a flag whoring BH with a PKM. In addition to the crew, I think the explosion killed a friendly. TK but no punish.

The routine to determine TKs is pretty weird.

I remember a round on Mashtuur.
I was MEC, and got to be Pilot in the Helo..i didnt expect anyone to get in, but oh well, it got full, so i flew to the middle and got heavily pounded on by MGs (dunno if it was a tank or Humvee..doesnt matter anyway)

The Helo lost Armor very fast, so i spammed BAIL OUT !.
Im normally not the one who jumps of a full transport as pilot when there are still passangers in (the captain is the last one to leave)

But well, as soon as i got in the "red area" of the health bar, i jumped, and so did one of the passangers.

While i was still falling, i saw the Helo, floating in the air for not even a mere second before it went BOOM.

guess what ?.. i got 4 teamkills for that... NO, it didnt hit a building, the ground or something, and neither i shot at it (i was still falling)

tell me how is this supposed to be fair ?
is it fair towards the Pilot or his crew, because i left them to their fate ? (altho being heavily shot at, and the bail out order ?)

Or is it fair towards the AA gunner who just did 4 kills, but didnt get the credit for it ?

.... of coursei got punished before i hit the ground and got kicked.

I think that it is the patch which is totally ****ed up. Man, I saw the most ridiculous thing a couple of days ago (one of the 1st few matches that I played).

I was on the Gulf of Oman map and, you guessed it, in a Blackhawk. Yeah, all the same **** happened... Helo got shot and stuff, only that this time none of us bailed out. An innocent teammate at the ground was happily blasting away at some MECs idiots. So, the dear BH caught fire and the pilot (who could barely fly the thing) crashed into the ground, into the poor teammate. Then, everyone died, even the poor soul. The funny thing was, all 6 of us on board were 'killed' by him even though it was the pilot's fault. He got punished severely. He went from the middle of the score sheet to the bottom... This is a great joke man...

One possibility is that the BH is exploding when it hits a parachute (don't laugh, parachutes are solid objects, and will kill an aircraft just like a wall or a tree).

As silly as this sounds, this is indeed the most likely cause of that strange situation. weird = yes

It happened even worse to me.

I wasn't the pilot, I wasn't even a gunner. . . but we were taking heavy fire and I bailed (because we were near a flag and I thought I would attempt to get it). I landed on the ground and was running toward the flag when finally, with the pilot still in, the BH explodes. I get TKs for everyone in it.

It was pretty weird.

Same thing with me. I was MEC in the back of the heli and everyone bailed. The helicopter dropped on all four of us but I got all the tks. No one punished though! I agree...maybe it was the parachute.

Yeah there are some weird things now, I jumped out of a cobra gunner seat the other day and I got team vehicle damage, my guess is the parachute caught the rater
