Just a heads up for some of you that might be having issues after the 1.03 patch. I patched BF2 and it reported success but upon trying to run the game, I was sent back to the desktop after the BF2 logo and a black screen. Most people would just uninstall/reinstall at this point but I wanted to see if I could determine the issue so I checked the patchlog.txt file in the My Docs\Bf2\Dmp folder and found that the BF2.EXE file had not been patched because it did not match the required parameters.
I knew right away why this happened and put back a copy of the original BF2.EXE. Re-ran the patch and all is good. So, the reason is that I used the "imagecfg" command to set the processor affinity (essentially disabling HyperThreading for BF2) on the BF2 executable to CPU 0 because I was experiencing random CTDs. That change resulted in a difference of the BF2 executable that the patch didn't like so it left the file alone. If any of you have used the imagecfg command on your BF2.exe file, be sure to put back a copy of the original prior to running the 1.03 patch.
