Modified Version??

Several of us kept getting disconnected tonight on various servers.. We could play a few rounds but when the next map was loading we would get disconnected with a server message saying something like "THIS SERVER DOES NOT ALLOW MODIFIED VERSION, PLEASE REVERT BACK TO UNMODIFIED VERSION"... Anyone know what the hell this is all about? and if there is a fix for the problem? Thanks!!

I did get this, so i uninstalled and re-installed the game, fixed it for me.

I unistalled and re-installed as well.. CD + 1.03 no dice. Do I need to reinstall the other 2 patches first?

I had it happen to me once yesterday(I got up to grab some coffee so I dont know which map it was loading).
SmackDaddy there is NOT 2 patches only one. 1.01 was removed by EA and should not even be considered.Their own instructions on it were to reinstall and use 1.02, so 1.02 then 1.03, technically 1.01 doesnt exist

You also have to clear your Temp files before reinstalling so that you get a fresh install. And isn't it funny that someone asks for help about something from the people that did not make the game and then gets mad when he is given solutions (that don't work for him) but will not send emails (maybe he did) to the producer (which is EA) for help.

This usually mean that one or more of your map files are corrupted. See what maps are doing this and try to get good files from a friend. Another way is to find a program that checks your bf2 files. Save the good ones and reinstall. Check for good files again replace bad with good untill you get a full install.

Thanks for the replies everyone.. that should fix it.. inzane, are you suggesting that I am mad at someone?? I have no idea how you gathered that conclusion. But thanks anyway, I think.

Did you manually update your punkbuster - www.evenbalance.com
That often fixes the problems especially if your pb is having problems updating itself.
