Patch didn't fix my 2 big problems.......

Problem number 1: I'll be playing the game, just as happy as can be, when my computer decides it needs to reboot. RIGHT NOW!

Problem number 2: I use Line-In 2/Mic 2 for my microphone. BF2 checks frequently to see if Microphone is selected as the input channel. If not, it selects it for you. This means that every time I enter a new server, my microphone stops working. It does this whether I have the in-game VOIP enabled or not.

New problem: The patch has also introduced a new problem......I was playing on Wake Island as USMC. We controlled every flag. I went to the flag that is normally the main Chinese spawn, and C4'd the UAV trailer. Way to go me! I went to C4 their artillery, and got hit for team vehicle damage........My screen still displayed that I earned a point for destroying command assets, but immediately below that it said team vehicle damage.

I know that nobody here can help with the new problem, but any advice on the first two problems would be greatly appreciated!

No kidding...........at least it didn't reboot my machine constantly.

I'm sick of this garbage. I've now rebooted seven times in five hours.

A patch will not fix your first problem, or even your second problem for that matter. This is problems with your computer.

As for the third problem, there was probably a friendly vehicle near-by, and the explosion hit it a little bit.

Nope thats a bug i took out artillery and it said team damage its a bug but it doesnt happen all the time only happend once to me

This was the first time I've seen the team damage thing, and several others have also reported it since the patch. I'm not trying to blame the patch for anything, but it is unusual that several people would start seeing the same thing after installing a new patch.

I fully realize that my first two problems are, at least in part, problems on my end. That being said, however, I didn't have any problems with my computer rebooting spontaneously until patch 1.02. The spontaneous reboots only happen in multiplayer mode. It hasn't happened once in single player. These two things lead me to think it's more a problem with the game/patch than my system.

As for my microphone problem.......I've been using these settings for years and have never had a problem. The problem happens every single time I enter a new server, and sometimes it seems to happen at odd times just to annoy me. Again, the fact that this is a new problem that happens reproducibly suggests to me that it is a problem with the game.

Now that I've said that..... I'm happy to say that the game is much improved after the new patch. Gameplay seems much smoother, the server browser is finally approaching something resembling functional (it's not there yet), and the new rank scale finally allows the game to be played like an FPS instead of an RPG.

If the US occupies the airstrip on Wake, and you blow the assests it shows team damage. It's a bug.

i had it where i put c4 on one arty and i got a point then i put it on another and got team damage?
