I made this topic to clear things up

If you are a Master Sergeant and thinking, damn I'll never be able to get to First Sergeant because I got veteran and basic pistol/knife at the same time, you're wrong.

You wont be able to get to First Sergeant because the ranking system wont allow you to. You can only be one of these ranks. So if you were a gunnery sergeant and you had all the basic badges, you move onto First Sergeant. If you didnt have all the badges, you move to Master Sergeant. This is why you can get unlocks at either of these ranks, but not both (on the same account).

As far as I know, First and Master Sergeants are both the same level of rank so a First Sergeant doesnt have commander priority over a Master Sergeant.

This will also occur at Master Gunnery Sergeant and Sergeant Major (50,000). You will get at unlock no matter what rank it assigns you, but again you will only be one of these ranks.

Private
Private First Class
Lance Corporal
Corporal
Sergeant
Staff Sergeant
Gunnery Sergeant
[Master Sergeant]|[First Sergeant]
[Master Gunnery Sergeant]|[Sergeant Major]

^ this means you will either go RED, RED or BLUE, BLUE, never RED, BLUE or BLUE, RED

if hes right i dont think its a bug, just a way to diverse the ranks, and let people choose there rank a little bit more, or just a way to split up ranks, seems cool, and realistic too, cuz in the miltary its not one rank after another, theres requirments for each one, so hopefully he is right.

yes, since you can only be master or first, you will still progress to the next rank

if youre a master, you move to master gunnery
if youre a first, you move to sergeant major.

considering i had all the badges yet didn't get to first sgt but rather master, i wasn't wondering why i cant get 1st sgt now but why i didn't get it in the first place

Still the pistol/knife bug is still a bug. This bug prevents people from attaining a certain rank that others will be able to but they won't because of a glitch. EA needs to fix this.

Also another problem is what if future ranks in the expansion require the basic badges? That'll be a problem. And if the ones that require the basic badges are a pre-requirement for other ranks much higher then how will we ever reach the other ones?

They released this game 9 years pre-mature, if they would have wait and checked all these bugs out they would have a fanominal game, but instead they just have the expected "Great Game............SEPT FOR THE BUGS!"

I noticed that my bar wasnt going up in the BFHQ a while ago, anyone else have this problem.

not sure if its a bug or just server lag but i am 1500 points past gunnery sargent and i have no progress show in bar twards next rank
