..Video Card Suggestions

Sup all, I've played BF2 at a friends house and love it unfortunately my machine as is can't run it.

My Specs:

P4 2.4 HT
1gig ram
geforce 4 ti4600

My comp is fairly old but I was looking to replace my video card to be able to play Bf2. I was thinking of going with either the 6600GT or the 6800GT, wanted to know if I did get a 6800GT with my current specs if I'd be able to run the game decently.

So I need some opinions here maybe some of you have simular specs? Tell me how your comp performs with a newer card.

I know if I go with a 6800GT it will be bottlenecked by my CPU, but im not sure if it will still run bf2 better then a 6600GT, my processor is a p4 2.4 HT not sure how badly that would bottleneck a 6800GT...

Your big problem your Geforce 4, they simply dont run BF2 (well, not entirely true, theres a patch but the game looks gay). Definitely upgrade your graphics card before anything else, a CPU upgrade for you would see minimal if any performance increase at all, its all down to graphics card. So yeah, whatever you can afford, 6800GT will be better than 6600GT, all depends on how hardcore you want to go. Actually Id probably spill for a 6600GT and another gig of RAM, but thats just me :)

Go with Post two...6600GT which is what I have and an extra GIG of RAM.

yea go for a 6600gt, get one by xfx if u can cos ther overclocked , i got a geforce fx5200, can only play bf2 on LOW...sucks :cry:

But their taste in shoes is impecible.

Ok, back on subject, get a 6800gt.
6600gt's are good too, but you will see almost double the power from a 6800gt and it will last you a while whereas the 6600gt are slowly becomming lower end cards.
