How do you get BIG Commander Scores??

Ive been trying to get bigger scores, and my ribbons for awhile. can someone clue me in on how to get 50 plus score with the commander, and what the point run down is example

Play on 64 player servers and use the artillery.

The only way is to get the average score of your team up. The score that gets you the ribbon is basically the average of your team's score. AND it has to be BEFORE the 2X bonus for winning the round.

The better your team, the better your chances.

Make sure you're on a good team with good squads.

Maybe pick a map that has lots of tickets.

I'd recommend NOT using the artillery as it does not give you commander points directly. All it does it takes away points that your teammates could get by killing those soldiers themselves.

Let the other team take a spawn point and then order a squad to re-take it. They get more points for retaking a flag than they do defending it.

Remember..you need your TEAMMATES to get good scores. Not you.

If you're EXTREMELY talented, you can try and be a good foot soldier yourself and get combat and teamworks points while commanding (although they don't actually show up on the point screen) as it will affect your commander score.

Ive got over 300 commander points in a round.........(after the 2x)

I can get in the 70's regularly on a 32 player full server. The first answer to your question is to win ! so some advice is about that more than actual points. It helps if you are in a spot where you can command full time but also can earn some points on your own.

--Be smart about what you do and play a kit or vehicle in a good though less active spot where you may actually have to fight briefly as someone tries to take the flag your on. I played commander on OMAN as MEC from the AA turret at the hotel. whenever a chopper got close to me, I stopped commanding and shot it down then went back to commanding. US was rarely on the ground eventually and I got the air defense ribbon [on the old system] and a gold star for the round.

--Do not Play then command, too many morons do this. You should be doing radar and UAV every time it refreshes and be in the command screen all the time until you have to stop to protect yourself/ spawn.

--Do Radar first then pick where your UAV should go.

--UAV A high value area (Your team is near the UAV and so are enough bad guys to justify it.)

--Zoom on your satelite map, you can pinpoint where you want to drop supplies, arty. Also, you can manually spot if your UAV is down or flying elsewhere. Even if all your assets are down / being repaired, you can zoom in on the hot spots and help the team.

--If there are just one or two bad guys on from radar in an area then zoom into that spot and manually light them up for your team, don't waste the UAV unless that's the only action area.

--Don't over do it on supplies in one area, 1 or 2 crates is enough. Drop supplies on the road heading into a hot spawn for your team to stock up on.

--Focus on supporting your troops in a line from your back spawn. If you're MEC on Karkand and half your team is at the farthest spawn and half at the train wreck/ bridge holding off the US and the US has most of the middle then support the train spawn till it's clear then walk your support w/ those troops as they gain ground until all is retaken.

--Defend your assets and understand that you can fix then with a very close resupply crate. Now that SF gets points for destroying command stuff, it's a lot tougher to have all of you assets working.

--Even though arty wont get you a teamkill, use it wisely.
If you guys are trying to take the center spawn on Oman from one side while the bad guys are on the other then don't drop arty in the spawn drop it safely on the outside of it, it may kill 1 or 2, it will make the bad guys get up and run anyway plus by the time it lands your team may have pushed the bad guys into the arty.
Obviously have at it in a congested & safe bad guy area/ spawn.

NEVER USE ARTILLERY!

there's no point to using it now:

1. it ends the round quickly 'cos you drain tickets with every arty hit
2. you don't get credited for the kills anyway and you just speed up the round so why use it?

remember, the longer the round goes the more points your team can score thus, the more points you'll get ('cos of your team's average)...

I'm finding the score for the Co is really random. You could put in a full round doing nothing else, but spotting and UAV'n and come up with the same score as a not doing anything. Is it scoring by every kill watched/assisted and by player repaired/healed... because they defiantly changed that scoring system. I'm finding that a kill that is only worth 1 point is not quiet good enough when an arty kill is worth nothing. Anyone else feeling this

Did you read the other posts in this thread? It's not random. There is no change in the way the commander's score is calculated. It's the same since the beginning. Commander points are obtained from the average of your team's score.
Arty should only be used (IMO) when you need to turn the tide of battle to make sure your team wins (to get the 2x). It should be used sparingly especially when there is the danger of multiple team kills...

The commander does get points for getting kills with the Artillery, just not teamwork score.

Commander points are obtained from the average of your team's score.

surprisingly, i find this to be true. earlier, i spent three straight rounds as commander in karkand doing nothing. i applied as commander, then proceeded to watch SportsCenter. every single time my team won (US) and i think the lowest score i got was in the 50s.

try it. karkand as commander then do nothing. no uav, no supply box, no nothing. mutiny will NEVER work 'cos it needs like 99999999 votes. and as long as you have a high rank (and global score), you'll almost always be the commander.

Arty kills do count towards your kill total, even though they're not posted in 1.03. Playing as commander I have gotten 3 veteran combat badges by using arty alone.

I have over 2500 global command points and have yet to get any command badge/ribbon. It's kind of sad that as soon as my basic badge hits, I should get the veteran badge simultaneously.
