I didnt get to play but 5 mins last night, but as a defender of the BH whoring tactic, I am actually excited to get a full squad on TS and play under the new patch.

We'll do one of 2 things:

1. Crew drops out, leave an engy as 1 gunner, circle and rape the area with the minigun while the other 4 cap the flag. Flag cappign will require more teamowork, but will still be done fairly quickly, and with a cautious pilot/squad leader, we'll be able to respawn everyone back in the event they get fragged on the ground.

Or...

2. Most of squad forms armor colum to work over flags. Pilot and 2 gunners take BH, and turn it into a gunship.

You bitched about guys like me capping flags with it, well, guess what, now I'll circle your spawn, not cap the flag, and let my gunners have their way with your troops. Can't wait to see the threads complaining about this tactic - and I'm sure I won't be the only one to employ it.

Played a couple of mashtuur rounds earlier, the BH hovered above the mosque the entire time raping the ground troops with its still overpowered mini-guns. Vehicles explode after 2 seconds of fire from BH guns, and when a tank rolled along the c4 started spamming out all over the road.

It was veeeery hard to take down, you had to be sneaky and shoot from a distance, which can be hard.

This isnt the whole story, of course. A blackhawk isn't invincible anymore due to armor changes and the reduced repair rate, so its possible to take one down if its spawnkilling, and do so without so much trouble. Before, if you ever got close to taking one down (an accomplishment in itself) the pilot would just fly away and repair; he had plenty of time to do it in thanks to the blackhawk's ridiculous armor.

I never complained too loudly about this, but i definitely feel the changes have improved maps like mashtuur. Just one of many reasons to love this patch

That sounds like a plan...spawn cappin'...but It's more fun doing speeding in for a drop or a pick up if you're a pilot.

I agree....Mashpotatoes is one of the best maps...however I feel like it's a little too big at times.

I do wish the bh had hellfires on board or a tow. for that pesky little APC or Tank that gets on your tits.

it was an MoW server, thats all i remember. Its showing up in my favorites list but i'm at work now so i can't tell you until later.

guess what? there are already servers that say "no flag c4ing" in their rules already.

there probably doing that so ppl want kill them so they can get there ranks ups,thats ok just get in a tank and shoot right at the doors you'll at least take out 2 if not more

You know, that is really a violation just like knife or pistol servers or servers where admins institute rules that alter the normal distribution of points.

EA doesn't like that...

I know it sounds lame, and if I was on the receiving end of a bh tearing up a spawn I know I'd hate it...heck, APC's on Karkand have ticked me off to no end...

The mian point I was making is that we can all pick something to complain about, but in a game of this magnitude and complexity, achieving pure balance between weapons, vehicles, map layouts, etc.. is gonna be damn hard, and certainly won't be happening in the first few patches. Anyone remember the M60/LAW combo in BF-V's release? Nasty is putting it mildly.

I just know that now flag caps will be harder, people will use the BH for other means, and some of them may not be that fun for the opposing team -- however, this is war the last time I checked and we are supposed to be trying to win. I just don't wanna see every vehicle get nerfed in one way or another by the end of the patch cycle.

EDIT - oh, and to poster above me, I play the game pretty damn straight, feel free to look @ my stats, bad k/d ratio from trying to take flags, most of my time in a vehicle is either armor or attack helo. You completely missed the point you cro-mag.

In a word. Wow. Lame. Very Lame.

FOr the past 3 months these idiots have been flag hopping, win or lose, for the sole purpose of points, and points alone. Trust me, winning or losing had no effect on these guys. Just the 200points at the end of the map. These guys have been doing this, in a virtually undestructable vehical. Please dont pretend otherwise...it was virtually unstoppable. ESPECIALLY at the pub level.
Now, they gotta invent rules, to "help" them continue on their BH lamming ways.

My tip. Stay away from servers like this, and let them enjoy paying for an empty server. The ultimate punishment.

If EA doesn't want people sticking C4 to flag poles, they'll have to patch it so that C4 doesn't stick to flag poles...

If you see a rule like this on a ranked server, report it to bf2rankedservers.com

If it's a private server, they can do what they like.

I whooped 4 blackhawk-whore-wannabes yesterday, they hovered a bit, trying to let the gunners and passenger down, I threw C4 on the undersideside and then BOOM 4 kills wham bam thank you for the points man

servers can make any rule they want to.

Uh, no moron, they can't. Being an admin who's rented his own boxes and adminned q2, UT, UT2k4, CS16, and now CS:S and an older UT mod - TO, I can tell u this, I've done as u said, and done whatever the hell I've wanted to on those servers.

However, NONE of them reported stats back to the game's creator. None of them were 'ranked' or involved any type of ranking system. Oh sure, you used to be able to drop by theclq.com or any other site and check on your stats.

EA has a 'terms of service' for their ranked servers. The general idea is that your gameplay experience from one ranked server to another is to be the same, otherwise the whole ranking system is rubbish and should be tossed out.

I've seen some lame assed clans try to promote things like "no bh whoring" "no defending flags in vehicles" "no c4'ing flags" and one even posted in the admin forum here trying to set up a "no artillery" ranked server.

ANYTHING that effects gameplay, which in turns effects how points are given out, is illegal in EA's eyes. I hope they find each and every server with these ridiculous rules and revoke their providers ability to provide ranked servers.

Didn't u call me an ******* in another thread and say "play the game the way it was meant to be" ???? Well, leaving ranked servers alone is what is needed.

For clans that want to set up servers with crazy rules, go rent yourself an unranked server and tweak it till your eyes pop out. But if its ranked, leave it the f alone and do what good admins are supposed to do --- police the server for tk'ers, hpb's, etc...
