is there anyway to remove a added prefix? and what about changing your login name with deleting your account please help?

You cannot change your in-game name. If you want a new name, you'll have to start a new account.

If you added a prefix to your name before this patch, there is NO way of removing it. You'll have to start a new account.

If, however, you added a prefix with v1.03 and are having a hard time removing it:

go to My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles
(C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles)

and edit the global.con file to delete the prefix so it looks like this:

GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix ""

It never remembers my prefix - I wish it would. Care to trade shoes? But anyway, I remember reading how to remove the prefix if it gets stuck. Use that handy dandy search feature and I'm sure you'll find it. Love, peace, and chicken grease.

why TH do they dont let us erase our pre-patch prefix??? havent spend 260hours to see i cant change my name...anyway, the patch rock:guns: even if i cant try it till friday.:wall:

If you were a programmer you'd know that it's pretty hard to have the computer distinguish between what is a prefix and what is just the first few letters of a username. I don't understand the big deal with prefixes anyways and I like how EA has treated the issue.

It's not a prefix, it's a part of your name. Your name is a unique account ID and has to stay that way. Nowhere has DICE ever claimed that you would be able to change this.

Yes your name is unique, but your player id is also unique. Having 2 key values, surley they will allow name changes eventually?
