    Not Another Complaint

^^^ im not complaining, but was there no way to make the patch smaller for dl??? I am only on a 1GB dl plan at the moment, and i dont want to waste 180 MB just on the patch. Is there anyone that can compress it or has???

    Thx,

It amazes me how people in other countries tolerate restricted internet access. Here in the good O'l USA in the begining of INTERNET craze some companies started off offering internet access & the amount paid was based on time online (so much per hour). Then someone offered unlimited access for 1 low price & now no AMERICAN would accept any other type of program.

It's not restricted in OZ. It's his dad who's restricting him from having unlimited downloads.

Yes, exactly, he just wont go up to the unlimited plan.

my ISP (iinet) has a ftp server where they have most patches and updates for recent games, you can dl them for no cost to your quota.

Thats becaue you have cable, in the UK and many other countries broadband services use ADSL (and cable but not for the majority) which is a regular phone line with upgrades on the exchange, as such the internet is more expensive and so there are packages for people who just web surf etc which have caps usually 2 - 4gb, which is fine for a lot of people who just want too web surf.

I have Cable, my speed is not capped, just dl limit, kinda sucks. I did have SDL (no not ASDL) but then i got Cable. They just rip us off in OZ... lmao.

Painful. Find somebody nearby and have them burn it to CD for you. You could also try a USB drive. Otherwise, there's no way you can shrink it down - it's already compressed as far as it can go. Worst case scenerio, a place like FilePlanet would probably burn it to CD for you for a small fee.
