What exactly is a Road Kill and how do you get one as an Aviator?

I have 483 road kills as an Aviator, I certainly haven't buzzed the ground trying to wing clip people.

I think road kills is vehicles kills not the people inside.

Afaik it happens when you bomb an AA site, or an enemy vehicle, and players around it get killed by the exploding vehicle or shreds.

road kills are people you ran over.. the people who want to get in the jet as you blast away also count (TK's), killing empty vehicles gives no points whatsoever (unless there's a hurting infantry guy hiding behind it.. in an indirect fashion)
