I know there is a thousand threads about the new patch, so we will call this 1001.

Im am really happy about this patch. Not only does it get rid of some of the stupid bugs that ruin the game, but it gets rid of stat whores. The whole reason I have been playing this game was to get enough points (25000) so I can finally get the PKM, and after the patch, I not only unlocked the PKM, but the G36C as well. Now that I have all the weapons that I wanted, and there is really no true way to stat whore anymore (other than tank whoring) I can truly enjoy the greatness of this game. Now I can just jump in a plane, fly around trying to kill people without worrying about how many points or kills I got, or how many deaths I have. I can just HAVE FUN. That is the reason I bought this game, but its kind of hard to have fun when you are sitting in a BH going from flag to flag just to get points. That era is over, and now its time to actually enjoy BF2.

I know! I played for 20 mins and went about 12-4 because I wasnt getting armor whored or tubenoobed the whole time! w00t! Now if only I could get promoted...

I agree!!!!! Finally no more stupid stat padding and BH whoring, finally I can use the guns that I want, finally I dont have to worry about my score that much, Halleluah!!

This patch was a godsend for people who tried to play for fun as well. Im sure their fun was ruined by stat whores that did everything they could to get points, and never care what happened to everyone else. I never thought EA was that bad, but I must thank them for this great patch. Not only a great new (FREE) map, but a complete change in the gameplay (for the better) as well.

Apprently this is your first BF game....they always release maps...which is very nice especially now with ranked servers

BF2 was my first. I never knew they released maps with their patches in the past. Still, Wake is a great map.

Agreed, I never liked the idea of having ranks and leaderboards in this game. The only reason I wanted to get a higher rank was to try out the unlocks. Now I have all except for G3 and I hardly ever pick the assault class.Unlike a lot of ppl I have no complaints about the patch nor have I ran into any problems except maybe for that EA message thing,but that's only a minor annoyance. I didn't believe it at first when I got promoted 4 times in one round. Thought it might of been a bug,then I found out it wasn't and I couln't be happier. GJ Dice.

Yeah EA is usually pretty decent about releasing new content with the patches...either new vehicles, weapons, or maps

Ahh youre missing out. G3 is a lot of fun. Just its sound and how quickly it kills people, makes you feel like an elite unit lol.
