i have to agree with you. I was a measely little Lance Corporal looking up at the day i will be a corporal , or even a seargant. I have only 1200 global points. I open the patch and one kill=Corporal 3 kills later i get Seargent and one later i get 2, yes not 1 but 2 medals! I wanted to earn these promotions so i could be proud. I don't feel like i deserve any of these

I like it that I have more unlocks now. You had to go on a BF2 binge or play for the next 5 months at a casual pace just to get another weapon which you didn't always liked.

You don't need the higher ranks for an incentive to play. BF1942 lasted for a lonnnnggg time without different weapons or stats.

I think its crap how much the points changed... yeh ok so my ego enjoyed being a high ranking player in the game, but hell i put the effort in... now i join today and get 4 unlocks... I was amped to getting to Sergent, now im like MstGny or some crap and have all unlocks but 1... i agree totally that they lowed it WAY too much... i mean i dont really care about unlocks too much because i play mainly Spec Ops so the other unlocks where just cool to have, now i have nothing to unlock worth unlocking and everyone has the same rank. Maybe the ranks should be based on what percent of the point rank you fall in, ie top 10% have 3rd highest rank, top 20% have 4th etc.. etc... or something but right now i dont feel like i earnt my ranks.

Frankly i just feel that im very much over bf2 at this point now.

I'm so with you guys on this one....
I was also a lil Lance Corporal...and now am Gunnery Sergent after like 5mins in game....yea having new weapons is kewl...but not that fact that every other joeblow also has them now...i am at 10200 points, and was looking forward to WORKING towards next upgrade...to fine a friend of mine has only 2200points and is Corporal! Still not happy Jan!

Undecided if i like the patch or not....seems more so buggy then the game eva was, mistakenly tking is anoying to me, the whole red/blue name thing.

Anyways dribble -- maybe once everyone settles down a bit and isnt so excited about the new patch in game these things will pan out.

THey did it as a counter measure to the stad padders don't you see? It's so obvious when you think about it. YOu advance all the non padders a sufficient amount so that the padding looks pointless in retrospect. I like it!

No its used by people with skill who can shoot from the other side of the map with 1 bullet without having to jump-prone like wallaby on crack and spam 5000 bullets at you.

Why do you play a game? some stupid virtual medal or rank? This might be a surprise but I play to enjoy myself, what a concept huh? Before the patch people whine, after the patch people whine. No matter what EA come up with there's always people that are impossible to satisfy. Stop the ego thing and just play to have fun.

Yeah, just think about all the people who've spent hours and hours stat padding or whoring it up, so they are high ranked before patch, to get unlocks and stuff, but don't have good enough score to be on the high leaderboard (ie first 100 or whatever), and now everyone that has played a bit has 3-6 unlocks.

This is the first time I b!tched about BF2...

I liked being corporal and the average person being lance corporal or private whatever. Now you can't even tell what rank anyone is because they all look the same... I had a really good feeling about this patch, now that I found out the ranks are so easy to 'obtain' (more like 'ranks are so easy to receive since EA is shuving it down your throat') I really dont feel or see any point in playing ranked servers...

This is my opinion... I also have a seriously bad feeling about this patch, unless EA fixes the ranking, I think we are going to see a decrease in expert/good/decent players (the majority) and an increase in noob players (minority) because I am confident that alot (not all) of the good/decent, etc. players will be sadened by this new ranking system, and will discontinue playing.

I was completly fine with the game before the patch, this is just... very bad move by EA... And winning virtual medals is part of the fun as$hole. Shut up and comeback when you know wtf your talking about, this is ridiculous, admit it, FFS these 'rewards' are handed to us so easily you can't deny it...
