    Imagine that.

Now with the release of 1.03, my BF2 is having even more problems. In fact it seems like more people are having problems. Go Dice Go, Go out of business!

First: CTD at 62% of loading.

Next try: Blank message from EA crap.

    Third try: Modified version error.

I think I could take some programing classes and make a better patch blindfolded and drunk. This is insane, what the heck is wrong with these guys? Include a new map and enhancements but not fix the bugs plaguing the game? Do they hate business? I am done with Dice and EA for good.

I say we boycott EA until they go out of business. This is a fraud. Selling a product that requires a patch which ruins the original flawed version. I am going to ask for a refund for my ~50 dollars. I really need to start a site called totalBS2.com dedicated to how much BF2 sucks my balls.

a 5 person boycott isn't going to stop the sales of nfl2012, fifa300, ultima online subscriptions, etc etc etc
          etc
          etc
          etc
          etc

they have a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge market. even if you got the ENTIRE bf2 community that wouldn't be anywhere near enough to put them out of business.

sucks, EA is here to stay. has been for some time now.

Well at least we can get Dice's crew to commit suicide after being dropped by EA. I bet there are enough people installing this patch (hundreds of thousands) that will be willing to boycott anything from EA until Dice is dropped.

I'm not installing this piece of crap patch till its really fixed. I'm not screwing up the game, it took long enough the first patch to fix. Screw it. I'm fine with 1.02

The problem is that everyone will be on 1.03. But I did notice about half the normal number of servers were running tonight. Might have to do with the bug or people's rejection of the crappy patch.

On another note after a few hours of trying I got it to work. I had to download the patch from 3 different sites and do twice as many fresh installs of the game. While it might work and the patch seems to improve the game play I still give it 1 star out of 5 for the crap you have to deal with to get it to work. I wish I had a 3rd or 4th thumb to point down.

I just did a fresh install of BF2 and patched to 1.03. Absolutely no problems.

I'm not sure what your point is?? Is it because you got it to work that there is nothing wrong with the patch, or that is a possible solution? If you're implying the prior you're wrong.:hmm: :|:

                      Re: Imagine that.

To all you having issues with the patch install, have you ever though that it could be your configurations not the patch. Example: if a game crashes to desktop you may have to a driver conflict with the new install. Normally all you have to do is adjust the setting in game or worst case reinstall your drivers. My point being is your individual system in most cases is the problem not the patch. In a perfect world everyone would have the same system and then the patch would be made perfectly to work with that config and no one would have any issues, but we do not live in a perfect world, therefore their are millions apon millions of system configs out there. Instead of posting hate messages in here you should be posting your troubles in a support forum so others may help you with YOUR issues.

                        Re: Imagine that.

Thats just the thing, every other game I've ever played hasn't required this much work to get it working. In addition, my same setup worked better each time I got back a patch. Its getting worse over time. My solution was downloading numerous patches and trying them all. Finally it worked, but I still get a "Modified content" error 1/4th of the time. Its not normal, and its horrible programming.

                          Re: Imagine that.

While I had to tweak some settings to get the game to run smoothly on 1.02(stupid 9600 POS), I DL'd, installed and have been playing the 1.03 patch perfectly fine. I got the no content "Message from EA", but just ignored it altogether.

I agree with MrClark1976 in that the tons of different configurations are causing these problems, albeit Dice should be able to try to forsee most of them.

Also the problem with most forums is that they are 95% complaining, because this is where you come for help and ideas from others that have experienced similiar issues. I for one have had minimal issues even with my lowly system and am immensely happy with BF2 so far, minus the bunnyhoppers but that's not a game design/bug issue, just people being people...
