PATCH ERROR INSTALLING AND CD KEY INVALID - solvings...

    OMG ! F-**** OMG .

if u guys have the problem installing the patch cause of errors, invalid cd keys and stuff, do this :

    -reinstall BF2
    -delete everything
    -install BF2
    -reboot
-install 1.03 patch (not first the 1.02)

now this is where it will fail as usual. while the small frame with the patching on it is "busy", go to ur taskmanager / processes and u will notice that there are two battlefield 2 1.03 patch.exe for some reason, one of 15K and one of 2K.
close the 2K proces (not close processtructure!!) and u will see the patch will end and this time SUCCESFULLY . BF2 here we come again

I did see that file and I ended it, but it still failed. However, I'm doing it after a fresh reinstall of the game and patch together, so I am actually repatching. I think I may be on to something though. I freed up more HD space. My disk has 2 partitions, a 16 GB C: and a 58 GB D:. EA has some weird tendancy to save everything in C: without giving you choce, which I hate. 16GB is little space nowadays. Anywho, I had less than a gig free on C and over 2 free on D earlier today, but the patch didn't go because it requiers 1600MB. Well, I have the game on D, but I freed up C space anyway. The patch went, it took the space on D. My idea is that the patch looks for space on C, and installs if it has room. When mine didn't, it didn't go. Ok, now I just reinstalled the game and patch after freeing up over 3 gigs on D. So I start to patch and my space on D goes so low that it ends at 138 MB. At that point it says patching failed. I think it failed because it ran out of room. But why the hell does it take so much? I friggin hate EA right now.

Did what the guy said on my first run of installing the patch, and I could log on no prob. Don't know if it helped or not, but I suggest everybody try it.

what i experienced with the previous patch, wich also failed in the beginning, was that the C:\..\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects_client.zip was some 800KB less then my mate had and also modified on a diff date wich is strange cause we all started together installing...
i copied / pasted that file to me and it worked since then, but djeezes, my luck of finding those issues wont last and all the poor bastards out there who dont even go to a forum and just want to play from time to time are the real poor fellas, cause they will prob just quit, cause no one can help.

Is this rly the way our gaming life will be? problems, bugs,... and when the help = patch comes out its again another strange hardware / software problem.

what makes 2 clean fresh copies different at the end when they do the same? the O.S. were the same (XP) and still that file, over and over again, it took me some time to figure it out. must be hardware imho...
