1.03: Commander just tk'ed me and I got prompted to punish

I was just playing Dalian Plant. I hopped out of a helicopter and was laying next to the flagpole as my squadmate hovered over me.

Well our commander dropped artillery on us...and I see the yellow "X [Teamkills] You" message for both of us AND I was prompted to punish the commander???

Is there something I'm missing with the new patch when it comes to TK'ing and the commander?

And yes I'm running 1.03.

Perhaps, regardless of which option you choose, the commander goes unpunished?

you get the option to punish in 1.03 , but it has no effect at all, his teamwork score doesn't go negative from teamkills.

But, when you kill as a commander, you won't get kills anymore to, even when you kill ten enemy's with arty, has no effect

I think the punish will count towards an auto-kick/ban if the server has it set up.

Anyone who played commander know the the dealio is on this? I guess if you get punished 3 times to get booted...would like to know if that what they did.

you can punish it doesnt count against them only thing is now it takes less votes to kick or munity someone

Do you mean that your kill counter won't go up or you just won't get commander points?

I guess they left it in to make people THINK they are punishing their commander and not start a mutiny. I think most people who are TK'ed will feel a little better "virtually" punishing their commander even when it doesn't nothing.

If they didn't have this recourse then I think they would then start a Mutiny.

Unfortunately, I think now it will rebound the other way: Commanders killing infantry without regard.

Case in point, tonight, I had a commander who kept arty'ing us while we were trying to cap a flag. He had a UAV going, and there was only one enemy vs. six of us. Give me a break. He kept doing this all throughout the game, too.

I just hope the "newness" of this wears off soon so the commanders start thinking strategically again before pressing the button.

I think that's why they lowered the amount of votes needed to Mutiny a bad commander. Just for cases like you stated of the commander being a total n00b.
