We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
They added new ranks you know, so you won't be stuck with these after teh stats update. The next one for me is 1st Leiutenent, and I am the highest rank you can get.
The ranking system for battlefield 2 is realy kinda dumb if you think about it. The more points you have doesnt realy determen how good you are rather than how much you play. You can suck and only get 10 points a round but play all day and get like 1000 points in a day. The points system should figure in how much time you play and how many points you get and get a figure of how good u are, like halo 2 on x-box live for example, you are ranked on there by how many kills you get by how much you play. So if you play battlefield 2 for 1000 hours and have like 30,000 points then your rank would be lance corpral or corpral, because you are kinda good but not extreme. Wanna know how to tell who is the best in a server you are in? Simple realy just look at whoes near the top of the leader boards, most of the time that will give you a good idea :P Next time you look at how many points someone has just take a glance at how many hours they have played and compare it to you, that will give you a better idea of how that person compares to you.
This whole up the ranks things sucks alot of ass. Its hard to tell whos the good player and whos the bad players now because we all look the same. It is retarded and I can honestly say i wish it went back to the way it was. where noobs were lance corporal and 1337 guys were staff sergeants.
What? Nothing has changed. Except noobs are staff sergeant and the leet are Gunny or whatever. e.g. a noob has 10000 points and a leet guy has 50000 points. Their points are still the same after the patch. All that has changed is that both of them are 3 ranks higher. The difference between the 2 is still the same amount of points and the same number of ranks.
I really wish that everything would go back the way it was as far as the ranking system goes. I know that there really is little merit to the ranking system when it all boils down. But I was a Corporal and now I'm a Gunnery Sargent (i think).
Anyways I just don't feel like I've earned it like I did when I got Corporal a few weeks ago. The ranking system once gave me a drive to do better in the game but now that nobody has even earned their ranks, it doesn't even matter to me anymore.
I wish DICE had a different Publisher becuase if they did none of this BS would be gong on right now. All EA cares about is money (which is why the stats system changed).

Look, there will still be plenty of more ranks to go. You will forget all about this in a few weeks when you start seeing 10 times higher ranks than you popping in and out of the servers. Then all this crap will start up again. Sure we will all have the unlocks.... but when you start seeing stars for icons all over the place... u will want to play harder again. Also, when you see guys that just got the game and is still learning how to play they will look at your rank and ask for your help. Don't know about you .. but it took almost 4 months for me to get to (Gunner Sergeant) now. I have to get use to saying that since I was Corporal last night. The new comers will not know anything different what we all just went through. It will still take them about 7k or 8k points to get where we are. So just relax and let the new comers look in aw, as they spend the next 3-4 months getting points and unlocks, only getting to Gunnery Sergeant. By then our ranks will be even higher.
