Are the promotions real or is it some glitch?

Because I just went up two ranks while playing in the same server.

And do commanders still get punished for their mistakes and team kills and such?

Because I messed up and dropped artillery over my enemies and allies and one dude punished me. And is there a way to see who is riding with you after it fades away?

Promotions are real.

Commanders won't get punished anymore.

i guess so it just awarded me the far east and the middle east service ribbons as i was playing as MEC so whoooo more for me

The new ranking system is real , The only reason I assume they devised such a drastic overhaul is the fact that many players by atleast october4 , today , do not have most of the unlocked weapons or high rank.. This could have posed a problem for the release of battlefield 2 special forces the expansion pack which is due only a month from now. They were probably forseeing that way too many players would still have reasons to play bf2 without the expansion... example " why buy the expansion .. Im still trying my best to reach rank ___ or Im still trying to make enough points for the unlock ___ . Ill buy the expansion later. By November If you play a lil you should have all the unlocks and such making special forces look so much more appealing.

The first 3 kills I raised in rank. now do i get 3 weapons unlocked?

hehe but since Im a battlefield 2 addict I think ill let it slide and just get suckered in by the marketing ploy.. yeah Ill just sit back and enjoy the new rank and unlocks.
