    Download Problem

Hey, everytime I try to download anything the download gets about half way and then just stops. Everything looks fine but its not recieving anymore data and the ETA doesn't change. Anyone else have this problem, or atleast an answer to it.

    ~Thanks, Cpt. Ford

    Re: Download Problem

Try a download manager like freedownloadmanager if the connection breaks you can resume it or it auto resumes

Free Download Manager accelerates all types of downloads (files, video, torrents). It's a smart and fast internet download manager for Windows and macOS.

I think its the best one around and its free

      Re: Download Problem

Also, don't clock "post thread" three times in 1 minute if your connection to the forum is slow.

If anything wait until later this evening when people have gone to bed to get a better bitrate. There should be no rush considering it looks like 50% of the people updating to this patch are having more problems than before.

          Re: Download Problem

          C&P from post above this......
How to install the 1.03 171MB (175,576 KB) patch.

You can for now forget about the 1.02 (hot fix patch) do not install it.

It seems that you can install this patch over the top of the 1.02 (hot fix patch)
(eg if you have the 1.02 patch installed already then you just forget about it and install the new 1.03 171MB patch,

Have you got enough space on your hard drive, normally C: ?
The patch needs around 171MB (175,576 KB) ish.

          1) Create a file in your hard drive rename it BF2 Patch v 1.03 Patch (normally C) (when the Patch v 1.03 is saved in this file in your PC it will save all the hassle and your bandwidth of downloading it again if you need to reinstall the patch and you will know were to find it.

How to do it > Start > My computer > Drive where you wish to save the file normally C: > Right click > New > folder > enter the new name "BF2 Patch v 1.03" (or right click on the new file click > rename and rename it "BF2 Patch v 1.03"

          2) Choose a site to download the 1.03 patch link.... link to Patch 1.03 Mirrors
here http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33811 choose and click download. (you could use a freeware like Download Accelerator Plus http://www.speedbit.com/ to speed things along).

          3) When the small box comes up with "Run" "Save" "Cancel" click "SAVE" and save it in the above file you have just created called BF2 Patch v 1.03.
How to > the file "BF2 Patch v 1.03" should still be showing as the designated file where the patch will be saved so just save it or use the "Browse" and locate to were you saved it to.

NB patching may "fail" Due to various reasons like "connection interruption" (Ci's) or the downloading sever being under a lot of stress, it's not your fault you just have to hang in there and re-download from the EA or a mirror site again.
Check the size of the downloaded patch to the size above if its not similar then you need to "re-download"

          4) When saved it will ask you if you wish to Run "(you do wish this now)" so yes "Run" Ok.

          5) It will take a little time to run let it.
It will tell you that you have patched successfully.

          6) You "now" at this time, may wish to empty your temp files and defragment your... Hard Drive / Drives before starting BF2.

          7) If needed to reinstall the patch because, say, that you reinstalled BF2 find the file you created, open it, and double click the icon to start the patch install.

          Sharky.
