Hi!
I just run the new patch just to get the "Patching failed" error. I remembered a trick to get v1.02 to install (you know back then...) and I thought I would share it with you so we don't get too many threads about it. Now, there are probably several causes to this error, but this is how I got it to work:
1) Type %Temp% in the Run-dialog on the Start-menu (or look the foler up yourself).
2) Scroll to the very end of all the files in that folder
3) Run the patch.exe file you just downloaded
4) Choose you language and click "Next" but do not click the "Install"-button.
5) Go back to the temp-folder and see that you have som new folders.
6) Open the new folder with the longest name (ie. {BA493...etc...etc.})
7) You'll see another folder with a similar long name, open that
8) Now you'll see 12 files
9) Copy all 12 to your Battlefield 2 folder (root folder of game)
10) One of those files are called "patch", run it!
Now the Command Prompt Window will open up, wait for the patching to complete ande the window will close automatically.
Congrats! You're running version 1.03 (I think...well, it worked for me. Hope it does for you too).
