Patching failed twice

Ok i downloaded from a mirror, from file planet and both times it said patching failed so wtf am i doing wrong?

Uninstall the game. Reinstall and patch to 1.03

This is exactly what i am trying to do but the patch.exe will crash halfway thru patching and i just cant get it to finish, i have tried using the fix by copying and pasting the contents of %Temp%, this seemed to be better but it ended up the same way, with the damn .EXE crashing (think it said like "RTP Executable" has failed and will need to close, everytime i run te patch this happens and also when i tried the fix, it just wont install. but never had these insane problems with 1.01 or 1.02.:cry:


EDIT: this is exactly what im doing........................

1. Uninstall game, delete all reference to it from system.

2. Install, restart system.

3. Double click patch 1.03 exe (i have tried the patch fail fix but to no avail)

4. Wait and watch for fail about halfway thru.
