i don't think that's accurate.

i have 62000+ points and "only" at first sergeant.
'IWI' has 113000+ points and still at sergeant major.
meanwhile, 'daddeh' has "only" 53000+ points and he's also a sergeant major!

You have to get a kill/point for each rank. The game won't recognise the current points to the new ranks until you score a point for each one.
It has to catch up with the new ranks and for some reason does it one rank at a time instead of all ranks automatically or all at once.

I can't update... I've been waiting for quite a while and ingame it says I'm Staff Sergeant but I can't get my award when I log off and on.

yup. plus a couple expert and one veteran badge. i'm not complaining. i'm happy i have all the unlocks now. i'm just wondering why 'IWI' has the same rank as 'DaDDeH' even though he has more than 50000pts. than 'DaDDeh' and why he ('DaDDeH') has a higher rank than me even though i have more points!

again, not complaining... just wondering about this new ranking system...

I got the Chinese service badge too. 16:49 with china and about 84hrs overall. requirements have been dropped.

i've only played the game twice tonight since the patch but the first time i went from lance corporal to master sergeant for doing nothing

just played again and i'm still only at lance corporal on bfhq but while playing i was promoted the whole way up to gunnery sergeant

What a load of arse! Been working for ages to get to Corporal (yes, I'm not very good!) and just as I'm a couple of days away it changes all the requirements!

Oh well... just have to enjouy even more unlocks tha I was anticipating!

ya i had like 9200 points before then i played got ranked up as soon as i revived 1 person, then i shot someone and went up another rank....needless to say i went from lance to Gunnery Sargent in about 35min...and i only have 9304 points....

About 16k points, went up to Gunnery Sergeant. Bar to next rank is completely empty.

I don't have a lot of time to play the game, but I worked my ass off in the time I did. Got to Sergeant(3 unlocks) was proud of my personal achievements only to find that patch 3 awards the Sergeant rank to N00bs who have only played for a few weeks. WTF bullsh*t is that
now newb players who suck ass can get the DAO in a couple of days and think there the S#%@, and act like a prick on Voip in squads.

I love everything else. but this rank Stuff is too stupid. I thought they were gonna bring down the requirements by like 2-5,000 global points for like sergeant and stuff. but not down by 90%. 100 global points to get your first unlock? absurd!!! you can easily get that in your very first patch played.
