    Reduced Effectiveness of Kamikaze?

    From release notes:

    ****
When a vehicle explodes due to external forces, the driver is no longer mis-credited for the kills.
    ****

Interesting - does this mean that when a plane hit's a chopper that the kills are not credited to the plane pilot or is it meant to keep the chopper pilot from being credited (penalized for his crew members dying)?

No what it means is, when I blow up your APC or Blackhawk with my tank... You don't get Teamkills because there were people in your APC or Blackhawk.

Was actually hoping that, as a pilot, you would get credit for the kills, get a TK for killing your bombadier (if present), and get team vehicle damage for destroying your plane.

I'm with it on the APC driver not getting improperly charged with TK'ing all of the people in the APC.

On another note, how about the tank driver who drives over one of his teammates mines get penalized for TK'ing the gunner (if present) and team vehicle damage if the person who laid the mines is still penalized for killing the driver. That would make people pay more attention to mines.

Yeah it happened to me the other day, a vehicle we had just shot up next to my buggy exploded killing me and my gunner but since it was not a direct kill from a member of the opposing team the game blamed me and TKd me for it!

Thankfully enough the gunner did not punish. It was a particularly good server I was on, I don't remember anybody hitting friendly mines except maybe once, and punishing was very rare.

It really does make a difference to the enjoyment of the game, quite simply it was more enjoyable actually getting on with the people you played with.
