5.1 Headphones??

I would like to get a GOOD pair of 5.1 surround sound headphones with a built in mic. I'm currently using the Zalman 5.1 headphones & they sound GREAT but there is no mic attached. Could somebody suggest a GREAT pair of 5.1 headphones with a built in mic? Cost is not as important to me as quality. A few of my friends said that I'm already using the best out there (Zalman) & I would be wasting my money on anything else...what say you? :hmm:

or Get some Sennheisers for absolute best audio quality.

Or you could get an X-Fi Xtreme Sound Card for 120 and use CMSS-3D which sounds better in 2.1 headphones than actual 5.1 Headphone Sound. Better surround sound that is.

Can you still get 5.1 sound in headphones, if you don't have a good soundcard? Or, is it all about the headphones?

5.1 is fine, but turn the center speaker off as it messes with your perception of sounds, like footsteps, from the left versus right. i have these:

Has anybody got a pair of surround headphones. I've always wondered wether they really give you great sound or not. Theoretically it should be brilliant with no external noise to interfear with them.

Quoted for truth. I got these a couple months ago and they are amazing. Way more useful than my old Logitech 5.1 speaker setup since the left and right channels are isolated.

For those of you that think binaural surround sound (2.1 emulation) is the future, look up some samples online and compare it to your 5.1 setup. There's no comparison.

i have zalman's also. (love em)
i just use a nice logitech desktop mic for like $20. works perfectly.
but, then again, the sepperate mic takes up that mic plug, unless u get the usb one for like $30
