Pings

Alright, this still may be a problem with my cable company, not sure yet.

Everytime I play BF2 as of late my ping is not only high but it jumps, anywhere from 23 to 1000+ and doesn't stop not only is flying and driving out of the question but even walking is nearly impossible.

The reason I'm even considering a bug is that i tried other games to see what my ping was there, FarCry, F.E.A.R mp demo, and dling of limewire all had decent to good pings/dl rates.

It seems that only in BF2 do I get these crazy pings.

To find out, simply load up a command prompt (Start->Run->cmd) and then use the following command:

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

(where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address you're pinging, e.g. 56.154.47.48)

Find the IP address of the server you find yourself pinging high on and see if it is actually true.

it's not one server in particular, is EVERY server, like I said, I believe it's my cable company, i live in dorms on an air force base and they're the only company allowed on base.

so what happens when you use the DOS ping command I mentioned above to ping a few BF2 servers...

Before i join the #1 favorite server,the ping listed is always around 25,000. when i click it, it drops to around 600, 650. in the server its 47.

The server is TeamKOK 24/7 wake island. dont tell me im alone.
