8.2 is still a pretty good score, even if all IGN did was nit-pick at some of the bad points w/out looking at anything that was good. They complained because there was not too much that was revolutionary in the game play..its QUAKE...what did they expect?

prlly none cause fear is lame, cod 2 is exact as cod 1, and quake was never that fun for me...but i voted for it cause the graphics are tight

AOE 3 isnt that great, beat it like a week ago and it was bland. Multiplayers fun but some aspects made it not as great as the older ones.

Hmm, yah I AOE3 is looking good and I haven't played any strategy games in a long time. I guess I'll for the reviews on that one :)

I played in all games, except for CoD 2. Also I shall tell to you, all of them were not so good. Despite of it, I would prefer CoD 2 (Though IGN review has stated it not the highest estimation)

Yeah, I agree.

Black & White 2

A boring, short, very dumbed down version of B&W 1. If you are new the B&W genre, then this is probably an okay game; but if you were an avid B&W 1 player, then you will probably be very disappointed.

F.E.A.R.

Good: Storyline and voice acting.
Bad: Antiquated graphics (literally just simple boxes with different [yet bland] textures painted on; very laggy which indicates very poor programming considering how low-res the graphics are; and very little variety in terms of AI oppenents. Minor Spoiler (highlight to view): Heck, for 95% of the game you are running around in the same office building for Pete's sake!

Serious Sam 2

Nice graphics, but somehow, it has lost its magic. Still lots of amusing one-liners and such, but the levels are smaller, the monsters are fewer, and there is no longer that sense of impending doom like you had in the first two games.

Quake 4

It felt more like a Doom 3 expansion pack, at least to me. Quake 2, I think, was my all-time favorite FPS game, but Q4 just didn't have the same feel to it. (And before I'm flamed, yes, Q4 is/was supposed to be a direct continuation of Q2 story-wise.)

Age of Empires III

I'm playing this now. The story and voice acting are good and the graphics make you drool (for an RTS game that is), but the maps are small and the RTS gameplay mechanics and control are very lacking.

Call of Duty 2

Have it, but I'm waiting to finish AoE 3 before installing it. I'm looking forward to it, though. Even if it's identical to CoD 1, only just new maps, I'll be happy I think.

Civilization IV

Have it, but again, I'm waiting to finish CoD 2 before installing it. Civ2 is my all-time favorite strategy game (not that there are really any others to choose from :p), but Civ3 was a big disappointment (I don't know why). From reading through the manual, Civ4 seems to be not much different than Civ3, only prettier graphics, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

P.S. Sorry for the long, useless post. As you can tell, I'm really bored at work today. (I hate having to wait on other people to do their tasks before I can continue mine! )

I've NEVER really been into strategy games but I might give Civ 4 a go...
