MUHAHA, I never saw much bugging game. I think we was the beta testers.

There is a difference between bugs and tweaks. I haven't had a SINGLE problem with BF2. Yes, the server browser is crap but it's not buggy. Yes there are some gameplay issues but it's not buggy.

Buggy is when Star Wars Galaxies was released...not THAT was crap. So was Ultima Online.

You make me laugh. 72 hours for 150+ fixes? HAHAHA. What are you smoking? You obviously don't know the first thing about software development. And I would hardly call the quality of the game when it was released beta quality...it's been running pretty good...all the fixes they found are pretty minor. Such a mammoth complex system is going to need fixes / tweaks after it is released.

actually pal, EPIC releases several patches within the fist week or two
of major game releases... as issues arise.. EA/DICE should have done
the same thing, instead they decide to try to 'FIX' 150+ 3 months later..

Its obvious you know NOTHING about other games that go through these
same processes.. I write accounting software for a living.. and have
over 300 clients... if my software needed only 2 fixes, my ass would be
fired quickly... but since this is a game, and most of all, since this is
EA, they care nothing about releasing good code.

Unreal Tournament 2004 has been out for a 15 months.. theyve had
5 patches.. 2 within 30 days of release... the other 3 were followup
minor fixes over the last 12 months.. EPIC knows how to release and
support a game.. EA does not. Ask anyone in the know..

LOL...accounting software? ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE? Accounting software has NO variability. It is very straightforward and the requirements are very easy to test. So don't go bragging about how you write bug free code.

Yes epic releases patches pretty quickly at first but they don't fix a lot of bugs they only fix critical issues. Correct me if I am wrong but BF2 didn't have any such "critical" issues.

Its not so much that the bugs are critical or not, its the obvious
flaws in the code that should have been caught before we all paid
for it.

The product is still unfinished as we speak here today..

and yes, I openly admit the huge differances between game code
and accounting code.. but your simple mind missed the point, which
was that they dont care that the code is flawed... well, now 3 months
later, they care.. I guess all the guys at DICE got off their vacation
they took the week of BF2s release.. <- speechless.

I admit that the vacation is pretty bad. But considering how EA is being SUED BY THEIR DEVELOPERS FOR OVERWORK, I don't blame them. And is this memory leak on all machines? Cuz I haven't seen it. Maybe they had trouble reproducing it / tracking it down in the lab. Give the guys some credit, they have written a pretty awesome game...nothing on the market comes close. But all we want to do is complain.

You also need to keep in mind the work ethic in Europe is very different. They actually try to have real lives outside work...only 35 hours of work a week, 6 weeks of vacation a year.

I wouldnt have minded 2-3 patches over the past 2 months or so..

Ive seen much better support from other game publishers, I do know that.
And you know what..... When EPIC, for instance receives requests for
fixes, they come out and say; Hey we're gonna do XYZ in the next patch..
whereas EA seems to think this is Area 51 or something..

Yes everyone hates EA, even I do. But Dice and EA are two totally different entities. Publishers are usually the evil ones, not the devs.

It is a completely different division of DICE that is working on the expansion, in two totally different countries. The fact that they are bringing out an expansion does not effect in any way the production of the patches.
