Joy Stick Worth it?

Hello guys, You might be getting tired of threads like this, although I'd like to know if getting a joystick for BF2 is really worth it? I've been piloting with mouse and keyboard and I've racked up lots of points. My question is, is a joystick really worth it? I can pull shart turns because I put up the Yaw and Pitch factor to 9 and 10, but I want to know if a joystick can mak even sharper turns, and more control.


If so could you suggest a good joystick. I'd rather have only a joystick, no throttle piece as I dont have much space on my desk. Also having lots of buttons might help too. I'd like to be able to switch between bombs and AA missles with a click of a button and have both the alt fire and primary on the same stick.

dont get a joystick, even after u get it you wil prolly still suck.

well im sick of gettin in a BH and haveing the pilot tell every "dont wory guys i got a joystick" right as he plows us into a tree!

I wouldn't reccommend piloting a chopper with a joystick...but jets, yes. It's so annoying having to shove my mouse around to fly a jet, I much prefer using a joystick. Since choppers are all able smaller, subtle movements mice are much better, I feel..

I'm used to using a joystick for flying from other games, so it seems much mroe natural to me to fly a jet with a stick.

I have a friend who has a HOTAS (Hands on throttle and stick) Saitek X-45 and he says it's not worth it. It's easier with the keyboard.

I score on average 40 with a Jet fighter, and if I use a Bomber and bomb I can hit high 80's. However If I get persued it becomes difficult to loose him with a mouse and keyboard.

I know that much. I use a mouse to fly the choppers.

I just want to know if a Joystick is a good investment to flying a jet over what I presently can do.

I hear a lot of good things about that joystick, I'm thinnking about ordering one but I'm not sure - the layout of the buttons on the top of the stick seems really odd to me :hmm:

Id like to get a joystick because some of them let you set the throttle or certain speed,but i do like flying with my keyboard and mouse

Nah I just use the keybored,arrow keys, and the good old mouse.

I use keyboard and mouse for flying the jets and the helicopter's, I don't find it difficult it just takes a while to get use to in the beggining.

Just a question...can i walk and shoot with the joystick if i for example must parachute me out from the airplane?
Or must i change fast to mouse and then fast to joystick, lol?

joystick + helo = no difference

joystick + jet = major difference
