  • Anyone using Athlon XP-M 2500 or 2600?

    Hi

    I just bought a XP-M 2600 and I am running it over-clocked at 2.2ghz (400fsb) and my game is running like a piece of s h i t.

I have also just upgraded my ATI drivers to the latest Omega drivers and installed a PCI USB hub/card.

My single player game is fine but in mutliplayer games my PC is lagging like mad. Any ideas?

My game was running fine last time I played it so it must be one of these things:

Driver Upgrade (but my mates are running the same driver with no problems)
CPU upgrade - but the XP-M came highly recommended
    PCI USB HUB
Playstation controller adaptor (but my brother runs one without problems)

Rest of your system specs would help.

    BTW, I'm running the following.

    XP-M 2500+ @ 210x11= 2315 mhz 1.625V
    1 gig PC3200
    6600GT @ 540/1125
    Audigy ES

and the game runs just fine.

You say you updated the vid drivers, when was the last time you updated the motherboard drivers? You may also need to feed the cpu a bit more v-core.

      This is my full spec:

Abit NF7S V2.0 With most recent bios and latest nVidia driver
      AMD Athlon XP-M 2600 set at: 200x11 - 1.568v
      1GB PC3200 running at 200mhz (1:1 with FSB)
Radeon 9800Pro with Omega 2.6.61 driver
      ETC, ETC

I use a Thermaltake case with plenty of cooling and a Jet7 H/S & Fan. My CPU doesn't go much over 50C even with the fan on lowest whilst gaming.

I am going to try stepping up the core voltage a little bit and see where that gets me.
